In an RTI to The Indian Express, the Election Commission has also recently informed that 54.32 crore Aadhaar cards in the country have not yet been linked to Voter ID cards. Aadhaar card is a unique ID which is issued as an identity card for every person in the country. Aadhaar card captures a citizen’s biometric information such as fingerprint and iris scan. A person can have only one Aadhaar card. By linking Aadhaar with Voter ID card, no citizen will be able to keep fake and multiple Voter ID cards. Process to link Aadhaar with Voter ID card

- How to link Aadhaar-Voter ID card through NVSP Portal (Linking on NVSP Portal)
- First of all visit the official NVSP website of Government of India and then enter your state, district and personal details like name, date of birth and father’s name
- After filling all the information click on the Search button. After this, if your information matches with the information available in the government database, then your details will appear on the screen.
- Feed Aadhaar No option will appear on the left side of the screen. Click on it and then you will see a pop-up window where you have to enter your name as per Aadhaar card, your EPIC number, Aadhaar number and your registered mobile number/registered email address.
- After filling all the information correctly, click on submit.
- After this, you will see a notification on the screen, in which there will be information about successfully registering the application for linking your Aadhaar and Voter ID card.

- For example, first type ECILINK XYZ1234567 562215678207 and send it to 166 or 51969. XYZ1234567 is Voter ID Card Number and 543215678232 is Aadhaar Number.

The two ID cards can also be linked by calling the call center specially created for Aadhaar-Voter ID card.

You can also link your Aadhaar card and EPIC (Voter ID) card by giving an application to your Booth Level Officer (BLO)
- After this BLO will do a door-to-door survey and record your information.

After linking Aadhaar-Voter ID card by any of the methods mentioned above, your application will be further processed by the authority. To check the status of your application, you can go to the NVSP website and fill the information according to the Seeding Through NVSP Portal section.
You will get a notification once the process is complete. In these notifications, there will be talk of information that you have already registered and it will also be told that the request is in process.
