According to the Union Health Ministry, till 8 am on Sunday (March 12, 2023), the death toll has risen to 5,30,781 after the death of one patient due to infection in Kerala. According to the data of the Ministry of Health, the total number of cases of infection has increased to 4.46 crore (4,46,90,492). The national recovery rate from Covid-19 was recorded at 98.80 per cent. The number of people recovering from this disease has increased to 4,41,56,093, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.19 percent. According to the ministry’s website, 220.64 crore doses have been administered so far under the nationwide anti-Covid-19 vaccination campaign.
On the other hand, the Center has expressed concern over the increase in Covid cases among cases of seasonal influenza subtype H3N2. The Center told the states that it needed to be looked into immediately. The Center has requested all states and union territories to follow the guidelines regarding cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) or severe acute respiratory infection (SARI).
Guidelines given to states
States have also been requested to take stock of hospital preparedness such as availability of medicines and medical oxygen, vaccination against COVID-19 and influenza. In a letter to the states and union territories, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “There has been a significant reduction in the number of COVID-19 cases in the last few months, but the gradual increase in corona cases in some states is a worrying issue, which needs to be addressed immediately.” Needs attention. Bhushan said that despite the low number of new cases, reduction in the number of hospitalizations and progress in the Kovid-19 vaccination, there is a need to be vigilant.
