In Asia Cup 2023, 6 teams are divided into two groups. India, Pakistan and Nepal are in one group. There are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan in the second group. There will be a total of 13 matches in the tournament.
The Asia Cup 2023 schedule has been released on 19 July 2023 (Wednesday). The tournament, which started on August 30, will run for 19 days. The final match will be played on 17 September. The tournament will be organized in hybrid model. 4 matches will be played in Pakistan and 9 matches in Sri Lanka. There will be a total of 13 matches including the league stage, Super 4 and the final. The six teams are divided into 2 groups. Group A consists of India, Pakistan and Nepal. There are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan in Group B.
The high voltage encounter between India and Pakistan will take place in Kandy on September 2. If both the teams reach the next stage, then on September 10, there will be a face-to-face on the same ground. On reaching the finals, both the teams will face each other thrice in 15 days. The first match of the tournament will be played between hosts Pakistan and Nepal on August 30 in Multan. There will be a clash between Nepal and India on 4 September. This match will also be held in Kandy.
The tournament will be held in ODI format
2-2 teams from both the groups will reach Super-4. The final will be between the top 2 teams of the Super-4. In view of the ODI World Cup 2023, the tournament will be organized in the ODI format. In the year 2022, it was organized in T20 format. Sri Lanka was victorious. The last time the tournament was held in the ODI format was in 2018. Team India became the champion under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
There will be 3 group stage matches and one Super-4 match in Pakistan.
Please tell that there will be 3 matches of the group stage and the first match of Super 4 in Pakistan. Indian team will not go on Pakistan tour. In such a situation, Pakistan will be A1 and India will be A2 in Super 4, while Sri Lanka will be B1 and Bangladesh will be B2. If Nepal and Afghanistan reach the Super 4, they will replace the eliminated team.
