PIPOnet Railway Passenger App Launched: The new PIPOnet app has been launched in association with RailTel and NuRe Bharat Network.
NuRe Bharat Network, owned by 3i Infotech, and RailTel have jointly launched a new mobile app. The name of the mobile app launched on Monday (15 May 2023) is PIPOnet. With this app, services like e-ticketing, travel, stay reservation and entertainment apps have to be made available to passengers traveling in rail.
Sax Krishna, CEO of NuRe Bharat Network, says that the new PIPOnet app will be available to download on the Android Play Store in the next two weeks.
He further said, ‘We have integrated Netflix, Uber, Ola in the app. Through PIPOnet, passengers will be able to book e-tickets, platform tickets, porters, apart from stay, food and other things. Advertisers will also find a place in this app to increase their reach to the passengers. There is a huge scope here. We hope to generate a revenue of Rs 1000 crore in the next 5 years. The CEO also says that with the new PIPOnet app, advertisers will be able to connect with people in Tier 1, 2, 3 and 4 cities across the country.
Manoj Tandon, director of projects, operations and maintenance of RailTel Corporation, told that Nure Bharat Network will have to share 40 percent of the revenue (at least Rs 14 crore) earned from its services with RailTel every year.
RailTel Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kumar said, “Around 1.7 million people daily login to our Wi-Fi network every day. As per our estimate, there are around 1 lakh villages within 5 km radius of Indian Railways. With new innovative digital technology, our partners can attract a large number of advertisers. They can start many other new initiatives on this platform.
