Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress party is going on and the yatra is being led by Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi. Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had withdrawn the agricultural laws. Citing this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that the moment someone stands in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he turns around and runs away. Addressing the Mewat Day celebrations at Ghasera village in Nuh, Haryana, Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress had to undertake the Bharat Jodo Yatra as its voice was being suppressed in Parliament.
The government is making an excuse to stop the journey
Referring to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s letter to postpone the yatra for not following the Kovid-19 protocol, Rahul Gandhi said that this is an excuse to stop the yatra. He said, “Understand the character of Narendra Modi-ji. Be it agriculture movement or land acquisition ordinance, as soon as someone stands in front of him, Narendra Modi turns around and starts running in reverse. Don’t compete, run away, leave the field.
Rahul Gandhi said that in regular press conferences, journalists ask him questions every five or 10 days, but have you seen his (PM Modi’s) press conference? You can’t, because they’ve never had one. Rahul Gandhi said, “When we try to raise issues like Rafale, demonetisation, GST, growing hatred in the country in Parliament, our microphone gets switched off. They turn the TV away, the speaker’s face is visible, that’s all. Our voice was not being heard in the Lok Sabha, so we had to start this journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
The journey will go till Kashmir – Rahul Gandhi
On Mansukh Mandaviya’s letter, Rahul Gandhi said, “The yatra will go till Kashmir. Now they (BJP) have come up with a new idea. They have written to me that Kovid is coming, so stop the journey. Meaning now excuses are being made to stop the journey. These people are scared of the power of India, the truth of India. Please inform that a hugging photo of Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot is also going viral.
Earlier in Ferozepur, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh while talking to the media said, “Politics is being done in serious matters of public health. Such an atmosphere is being created that these passengers are irresponsible. They are using Covid as an excuse to stop travel.”
