Bhediya Review: The story of Varun Dhawan’s ‘Bhediya’ is like Ichchadhari Naagin, VFX is being praised

Bhediya Movie Review Varun Dhawan Kriti Senon and Abhishek Banerjee: The story of this film begins with the harvesting of the forest. After which there is a new twist in the film.

Bhediya Movie English Review Many films have been made in the West about werewolf ie ‘human wolf’ and are being made even today. A human wolf is a person who is a wishful being who, due to some compulsion, becomes a wolf when needed, just like a wishful serpent. Bhediya, directed by Amar Kaushik, is also a similar film. Don’t imagine a man wolf here though. But this film is just the beginning of that genre.

What is the story of Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya?

But there are differences here too and that is that there is comedy along with horror. Rather less horror and more humour. A young man named Bhaskar (Varun Dhawan) goes to Arunachal Pradesh to acquire land to build a road for a company. The land to be acquired is actually a forest and it is possible to build a road only after massive harvesting.

The local people oppose this attempt of acquisition but the matter moves forward. Meanwhile, a wolf bites Bhaskar i.e. Varun Dhawan. After which he starts killing people in the form of a wolf in the night. But only a select few. The film progresses as the issue of why this happens. Kriti Sanon plays a pet doctor in the film and she injects Bhaskar with the injection given to horses when he is bitten by a wolf. Isn’t it funny?

Night scenes, VFX is alive

The film has many thrilling scenes of the jungle at night. Since the film is made in 3D, the effect of thrill also increases. ‘Bhediya’ also brings to the fore the ignorance and prejudices of the rest of India towards the states of the North East – Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh etc. and also indicates the need to respect the tribal or tribal culture.

Bhediya Trailer: Seeing the trailer of Varun Dhawan’s film ‘Bhediya’, people compared it to ‘Junoon’

Going further than that, it underlines that when the local people do not want the so-called, then why is the model of development forcefully imposed on them? Especially the model which indiscriminately cuts forests and destroys nature. Can’t we develop while saving nature?
