Afghan Border Security: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that America is ready to help Pakistan to stop attacks on the Afghan border. He said that the US would provide financial assistance to Pakistan to enhance border security.
According to The Dawn, the External Affairs Minister said that during his visit to the US Congress last week, two senior senators told him that they have been provided funding in the 2023 budget to help Pakistan in border security. One of them, Senator Bob Menendez, chairs the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, while Senator Lindsey Graham heads the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
Earlier on December 19, during a news briefing in Washington, US State Department spokesman Ned Price had offered help to Pakistan. He said that Afghanistan-based terrorist groups have recently increased attacks on Pakistani targets. “We have partnered with our friends in Pakistan to help them meet this challenge,” Price said. We stand ready to assist.”
