Canadian Sikh MP supported his PM, said – foreign government’s hand in Nijjar’s murder
Canada’s Sikh MP has supported his Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and said that a foreign government is involved in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. He says that he is not saying anything in the air, rather he is saying this on the basis of intelligence report.
Sikh MP Jagmeet Singh is a New Democratic Party MP. His party is supporting the Canadian government. In terms of numerical strength, his party is at fourth position in the House of Commons i.e. Lower House of Canada. He says that there is strong evidence that Nijjar was murdered at the behest of the government of another country.
Sikh MP mentioned the report of former Governor General of Canada David Johnston
Jagmeet Singh said that this report has been prepared by former Governor General David Johnston. The government had entrusted him with the responsibility of investigating the Nijjar case. For now he has said goodbye to this work. Jagmeet Singh said that he thanks America for supporting Canada in the Nijjar case. We will continue to make such efforts to raise our voice.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that New Delhi has told Canada that this is not the policy of the Indian government. He is ready to consider the information in the case. Jaishankar made these remarks during a conversation at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
When Jaishankar was questioned on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s allegations of involvement of Indian government agents in the killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada on June 18, he said, I will be very clear with you about what we told Canada. I will share with. He said that we told the Canadian officials that this is not the policy of the Indian government. We asked Canadians to let us know if you have specific information. We are ready to consider it.
