‘Come and contest elections against me from Hyderabad’, Owaisi challenges Rahul Gandhi
Asaduddin Owaisi Challenges Rahul Gandhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Hyderabad and not from Wayanad. Owaisi was addressing a public meeting in his parliamentary constituency Hyderabad.
Owaisi said, ‘I challenge your leader (Rahul Gandhi) to contest elections not from Wayanad but from Hyderabad. You talk big, let’s fight on the ground. Congress people will talk a lot, but I am ready…It was the Congress when the Babri Masjid and the Secretariat mosque were demolished. Owaisi said that the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh was demolished during the rule of the oldest party.
SP-RJD taking names of Muslims
AIMIM Chief said that leaders of Congress, Samajwadi Party and Lalu Yadav’s party (RJD) are afraid of taking the names of Muslims in Parliament. I stood up and said that Muslim and OBC women should also get reservation… They keep telling me that I am against women, but the truth is that you are against women, OBCs and Muslims.
Owaisi said, “BJP leaders say that two AIMIM leaders voted against the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament, but both of us shook the entire Parliament. In Parliament, 450 votes were cast in favor of the bill, two votes were cast against it. Speaker Saheb said, Owaisi Saheb, there are two of you, no one is with you, I said Allah is with me. Allah is with us. We are not people walking with the wind, we are people walking against the wind. We will row in storms, you will teach us.”
Let us tell you, Congress and AIMIM are face to face in Telangana, as both the parties are working hard to reach the top in the upcoming assembly elections of the state to be held later this year. Earlier this month, Rahul Gandhi, speaking at the Vijayabheri meeting in Tukkuguda, Telangana, had said that the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi and AIMIM are fighting unitedly in Telangana and his party is fighting against this trio.
Rahul Gandhi had said, “In Telangana, the Congress party is not fighting against BRS but with BRS, BJP and AIMIM. They call themselves different parties but are working unitedly.” The Wayanad MP had also claimed that there are no CBI-ED cases against Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao or AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi as Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers them his own people.
