Yadav claims that it is learned that Moitra is a shareholder in a company named Villarville Financial Advisors Private Limited. He holds 4900 (49 per cent) shares of the company since 2010.
A complaint has been lodged with the Election Commission against Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra for filing false election affidavits and tax evasion. Complainant Shravan Kumar Yadav has written a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar demanding action against the Krishnanagar MP.
Shravan Kumar Yadav has also lodged his complaint with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). He alleges that he came to know of some irregularities on the part of Moitra. The complaint states that the election affidavit (Form-26) submitted by Moitra shows that the TMC MP has shown ‘Nil’ in the column for investments in Bonds/Debentures/Shares and Mutual Funds etc.
Moitra has claimed that he has not made any investment in the stock. But Yadav claims that it is learned that Moitra is a shareholder in a company named Villarville Financial Advisors Private Limited. He holds 4900 (49 per cent) shares of the company since 2010. Moitra’s response to the complaint was not immediately available.
Shravan Kumar Yadav has also accused Moitra of non-disclosure of social media accounts in the election affidavit filed in 2019. Referring to income tax evasion, the complainant claimed that the TMC MP had declared his income as less than Rs 10 lakh in his affidavit filed in the 2019 general elections. He claimed that the declared income is around Rs 85,000 per month and it does not suit Moitra’s lifestyle.
Keep in mind that Moitra is a big attacker on BJP. Many times she has taken on the ruling party even in the Parliament. He is considered special to Mamta Banerjee. In West Bengal elections, she was a part of Mamta’s special team which used to make strategy.
