Underlining the importance of following Covid protocol by wearing a mask in Parliament on Thursday. Legislators from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and others like Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha also wore face masks as leaders of both houses appealed to all MPs to follow suit.
Om Birla advised MPs to wear masks
As soon as the proceedings began, the Lok Sabha Speaker advised the MPs to wear masks and spread awareness about the Covid-protocols. “We should be cautious keeping in mind the past trends of the pandemic,” he was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. He further informed that masks were available at the gate for the MPs.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had a meeting
PM Modi has also held a high-level review meeting this afternoon, a day after his meeting with Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
Mandaviya later pointed out that the government is prepared to deal with any situation and urged people to get vaccinated and follow basic protocols like wearing masks, sanitizing hands and maintaining social distancing.
