Delhi Traffic Update: Many roads are closed due to floods in Delhi. Outer Ring Road from Mukarba to Wazirabad has also been opened for traffic.
The water level of Yamuna in Delhi has started rising once again. A slight increase has been seen once again on Monday. The water level of Yamuna was earlier 205.45. It reached 205.48 at 7 am on Monday. Its effect is also being seen on the traffic system. Many roads are still closed due to flood water. At the same time, some roads have been opened after the water level receded. Other roads including Bhairon Marg in Delhi were opened for vehicular movement. At the same time, the Ring Road from ISBT Kashmiri Gate to Timarpur and Civil Lines (towards Mall Road) has also been opened.
Which routes were opened?
According to traffic police, Ring Road from Sarai Kale Khan to IP flyover and Rajghat in Delhi has been opened for light vehicles only. The route from Hanuman Setu to Salimgarh bypass and from here to IP flyover has been opened for the people. Delhi Traffic Police has said that commuters going to Nizamuddin can use this route and turn right on Vikas Marg via IP flyover via Akshardham Setu. Outer Ring Road from Mukarba to Wazirabad has also been opened for traffic.
Which roads will remain closed?
In Delhi, the stretch of Ring Road from Shanti Van to Monkey Bridge and Yamuna Bazar to ISBT is still closed for vehicles. Apart from this, the ring road from Majnu Ka Tila to Hanuman Setu is closed. At the same time, the road between IP College to Chandgiram Akhara is also closed. The road from Chandgiram Akhara to Shanti Van has not been opened due to accumulation of mud. The advisory states that entry of heavy goods vehicles has been banned from Delhi borders including Singhu, Tikri, Rajokri, Badarpur, Chilla, Ghazipur, Loni, Apsara and Bhopura. There is no restriction on vehicles carrying essential commodities and relief material.
