Sidhi Urination Incident: The victim of Madhya Pradesh’s direct urination incident has demanded the state government to release the accused Pravesh Shukla. The aggrieved tribal man said that the accused has realized his mistake. Police on Wednesday arrested Pravesh Shukla, accused of urinating on Dashmat Rawat, a victim from the tribal community. A video of the incident went viral on social media platforms on Tuesday, following which the police registered a case against the accused and arrested him.

Apart from the IPC and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, action has also been initiated against Shukla under the stringent National Security Act (Rasuka). Shukla is currently lodged in jail. The alleged illegal portion of Shukla’s house in Sidhi was razed by bulldozers.

When asked about the action taken against the accused, Dashmat Rawat told the media on Friday, ‘My demand to the government is that a mistake has been made (by the accused)… Now Pravesh Shukla should be released. Whatever happened in the past but he has realized his mistake.

When asked about the demand being made despite the outrageous act of the accused, the victim said, “Yes, I agree…he is a Pandit of our village, we demand the government to release him.” Rawat also said that apart from building a road in the village, he does not demand anything from the government.

A Brahmin organization on Friday opposed the demolition of a portion of Shukla’s house, saying his act was reprehensible, but his family members cannot be punished for their behaviour.
