Emerging Asia Cup: BCCI announced the team; Yash Dhul Captain, Riyan Parag also got a chance
The tournament to be played among eight Asian nations will be held in the 50 over format. India A are placed in Group B along with Nepal, UAE A and Pakistan A
The Junior Cricket Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected the India A squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 to be played from July 13 to 23 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The tournament to be played among eight Asian nations will be held in the 50 over format. Yash Dhull has been made the captain of the team. Under his captaincy, in the year 2022, India became the champion in the Under-19 World Cup.
Apart from this, Abhishek Sharma has been made the vice-captain. At the same time, Riyan Parag, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has also been selected. Apart from this, Sai Sudarshan, who performed brilliantly in the IPL 2023 final for Gujarat Titans (GT), also got a chance. Prabhsimran Singh and Dhruv Jurel got a chance as wicketkeepers.
India A in Group B
India A have been placed in Group B along with Nepal, UAE A and Pakistan A, while Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A and Oman A have been placed in Group A. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The first semi-final will be between the topper of Group A and the second-placed team of Group B. The second semi-final will be played between the topper of Group B and the second-placed team of Group A on July 21. The final will be held on 23 July.
