EXCLUSIVE: Rishabh Shetty gives an update on ‘Kantara 2’, when will the shooting start
Today is Rishabh Shetty’s birthday and the actor has turned 40. During this, Rishab Shetty talked about the much-awaited prequel of his 2022 blockbuster Kantara.
Kannada star Rishabh Shetty’s 2022 film ‘Kantara’ made him a pan India star, after the first part was a super hit, the actor is working hard for the next part of the film. The actor-director, who celebrates his 40th birthday on Friday, says the pre-production work of “Kantara 2” is in progress and they are planning to release the film in 2024.
Rishabh had earlier revealed that the next part of Kantara is a prequel to the first part. In an interview to Indianexpress.com, when asked about his plans for the coming year, he said, “No plans. Business as usual, Kantara’s work in progress.”
The actor has also written the film and he said, “The writing and pre-production is on. We will start shooting this year and plan to release next year. He kept tight-lipped about the details of Kantara 2 and said that the team will announce everything at the right time. The actor said, “We do not do this. Earlier, Rishabh Shetty had talked about Kantara 2 being a prequel in an event. He had revealed, “What you have seen is actually part 2, part 1 will come next year. This idea came to my mind when I was shooting for Kantara because Kantara has more depth in its history. Currently, we are in search of more details. Since the research is still going on, it is too early to reveal details about the film.
Produced by Hombale Films, Kantara also featured Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Saptami Gowda and Pramod Shetty. The film earned more than Rs 450 crore at the box office.
