Fraud, Crime, FIR: Lakshya Sen’s problems increased, FIR lodged against star shuttler; Arjuna Award was received only on 30 November
FIR Against Arjuna Awardee Lakshya Sen: It is alleged that with the connivance of coach Vimal Kumar, Lakshya and Chirag are also playing in international championships of opposition players below their age group.
Fraud, crime, F.I.R. Against Indian Badminton Player: Against India’s number one shuttler Lakshya Sen, his father Dhirendra Kumar Sen, his mother Nirmala Sen, his brother Chirag Sen and coach Vimal Kumar FIR has been registered.
The FIR was lodged on Thursday on behalf of M Goviappa Nagaraja (MG). The FIR alleged that 21-year-old Lakshya Sen, along with brother Chirag Sen, had fudged his age to play in an underage tournament in 2010.
Goviappa has also alleged in his complaint that Lakshya and Chirag, in connivance with the Karnataka Badminton Association and Vimal Kumar, coach at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, are competing in international championships with opposition players below their age groups.

Case registered under these sections of IPC (Case Registered Under IPC Act)
Lakshya Sen A case has been registered under IPC (Indian Penal Code) sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery), 471 (using a forged document as genuine). The complaint states that the actual age of Lakshya Sen is 24 years, but his date of birth is recorded as August 16, 2001 in the Badminton Association of India (BAI).
This age is 3 years less than his actual age. Chirag Sen is also allegedly said to be 26 years old, while according to BAI’s identity card, Chirag is still 24 years old (22 July 1998).
Many records may have to be lost if the allegations are proved
Lakshya Sen and Chirag Sen train under coach Vimal Kumar at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy in Bengaluru. The complainant M Goviappa Nagaraja runs another academy in Bengaluru itself. M Goviappa Nagaraja has sought legal action against Lakshya, Dhirendra Kumar Sen, Nirmala Sen, Chirag Sen and Vimal Kumar. If the allegations against Lakshya Sen are proved, then he may have to lose many records.
