‘Gita Press is not an institution but a living faith’, PM Modi said – its office is no less than a temple for crores of people
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Gorakhpur on Friday to participate in the concluding program of the centenary celebrations of Gita Press. The Prime Minister will also flag off two Vande Bharat trains here.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the closing ceremony of centenary celebrations of Gita Press, Gorakhpur. State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present on this occasion. On reaching Gorakhpur, Prime Minister Modi was received by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that his visit to Gorakhpur this time is a wonderful example of the policy of development as well as heritage.
PM Modi said that our government has also given the Gandhi Peace Prize to Gita Press. Gandhi had an emotional attachment to the Gita Press. At one time Gandhiji used to write for Geeta Press through Kalyan Patrika. The Prime Minister said that I was told that it was Gandhiji who had suggested that advertisements should not be published in the Kalyan Patrika. Kalyan Patrika is still following Gandhiji’s suggestion 100 percent.

The PM said that Geeta Press is the only printing press in the world, which is not just an institution but a living faith. The office of Gita Press is no less than a temple for crores of people. The Prime Minister said that this is the time to be free from the mentality of slavery and take pride in our heritage. Today, on the one hand, India is making new records in digital technology. So at the same time, the divine form of Vishwanath Dham in Kashi has also appeared in front of the country after centuries.
The Prime Minister released the pictorial Shiva Purana Granth during his visit to Gita Press, the world’s largest publisher of Hindu religious and spiritual books. During the ceremony, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that Gita Press has taken its glorious journey of 100 years ahead. In this glorious journey of 100 years, in the last 75 years, no Prime Minister has come to Geeta Press till date because Geeta Press has worked to awaken the original soul of India. Worked to honor the contribution of the 2021 Gandhi Peace Prize.
Gandhi Peace Prize 2021 to Geeta Press
Recently, a jury headed by Prime Minister Modi announced the award of Gandhi Peace Prize 2021 to Gita Press. Instituted by the Central Government in the year 1995, this annual award carries a cash amount of one crore rupees, a citation and a plaque and an outstanding traditional handicraft or handloom product. Geeta Press had refused to accept the award money and said that it would only accept the citation.
The Prime Minister will flag off two Vande Bharat trains from Gorakhpur Railway Station. These include North Eastern Railway’s first semi-high speed Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat train and Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express.
