Harley Davidson has unveiled the photos of its upcoming mid-size motorcycle, the All New Harley-Davidson X 440, for the domestic market in India. The company will launch this bike in the first week of July 2023. The most important thing about this motorcycle is that it is a completely Made in India bike, which is made by Harley Davidson in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two wheeler manufacturer. Harley-Davidson X 440: Design and hardware
In terms of design, the Harley-Davidson X440 is very similar to the company’s older XR series roadsters. It gets a round-shaped all-LED headlamp with LED DRLs, circular turn indicators, multi-spoke alloy wheels and orange accents on the body. The motorcycle gets USD front forks and gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The standard variant gets a combination of disc brakes on both wheels with dual-channel ABS.
Harley-Davidson X 440: Engine and gearbox
The company has not yet made any disclosure about the engine of Harley-Davidson X440. However, according to the reports, it is expected to get a 440cc, single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine, as per the name of this bike. This engine is expected to generate around 35 Bhp of max power and 40 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Being a Harley product, the X 440’s mill will be a long-stroke unit with decent low-end and mid-range punch.
Harley-Davidson X 440: Price and competition
The new Harley-Davidson X 440 will be launched in India in the first week of July this year. Its ex-showroom price is expected to be less than Rs 3 lakh. Harley’s new short-capacity roadster will compete with the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Jawa Perak and Yezdi Roadster in this segment.
