Especially after Global NCAP’s new testing methods and achieving 5-star rating with Indian cars. Here we are talking about the Maruti Jimny, although the Jimny to be launched in India is yet to undergo a crash test.

Maruti jimny: adult safety
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny managed to score 4.6 out of 8 points in the three-door frontal offset test, while it scored 5.8 out of 8 points in the frontal full-width crash test. Passengers received good leg and head protection, while driver was found to have adequate leg protection, exterior head and chest protection was weak. Overall, along with several other tests, the Jimny had scored 27.9 points and based on these scores, the SUV has got a 3 star safety rating.
Maruti Jimny: Child Safety
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny fared better in terms of child safety, scoring 84 per cent overall, while it scored 73 per cent for adult safety.

“In the frontal offset test, the protection of all critical body areas of both dummies was good except for the neck, the protection of which was deemed adequate. In the side barrier test, the protection of both the dummies was good for all vital body parts.
The front passenger airbag can be enabled so that it can be used for a rear-facing child seat in that seating position. The driver is provided with clear information about the status of the airbags and the system has been rewarded. The type of restraint the Jimny is designed for can be properly installed and adjusted.
Maruti Jimny: Safety Tools
Euro NCAP tested Maruti Jimny 2018 with dual airbags along with curtain airbags, seatbelts with pre-tensioners, a seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX child seat anchors, automatic emergency braking for pedestrians and in city conditions (AEB) with speed and lane assistance.
The Indian version of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny will feature front and side curtain airbags, ABS, ESP, EBD and seat belt pre-tensioners. The Indian version of the Jimny will not include active safety features like lane assist, AEB and speed assist.
