ILT20: Shane Bond will be the head coach of the UAE team of Mumbai Indians; Parthiv Patel, Vinay Kumar and James Franklin got this responsibility
The Mi Emirates team has appointed former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond as the coach. While Parthiv Patel has appointed batting R Vinay Kumar bowling and James Franklin as fielding coach.
Mumbai Indians on Saturday announced the appointment of former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond as the head coach of their Mi Emirates team in the United Arab Emirates’ International League T20 (ILT20). Bond is also the bowling coach of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will be accompanied by Parthiv Patel (Batting Coach), Vinay Kumar (Bowling Coach) and James Franklin (Fielding Coach) in the coaching staff.
Former India cricketer Robin Singh has been appointed as the general manager of the franchise. “Building a new team is always exciting and I look forward to carrying on MI’s legacy and inspiring our players to take the sport to new heights,” said Bond, 41. The six-team ILT20 league, starting in January, will be the second most lucrative T20 tournament after the IPL in terms of players paid.
Shane Bond joined Mumbai Indians in 2015 and the team has won 4 titles since then. He has helped the bowlers realize their potential on the global stage. Robin Singh joined the coaching team of Mumbai Indians in 2010 and since then the team has won 5 IPL and 2 Champions League titles. Robin is currently the coach of the UAE cricket team.
Parthiv and Vinay have played for Mumbai Indians
Parthiv Patel has played for the Mumbai Indians team and has been a part of the talent scouting team since 2020. Vinay Kumar is also a former player of the team. He joined the Scouting team in 2021. Both Parthiv and Vinay were part of the team when they won the title in 2015 and 2017. Franklin has also been a part of the team.
