Imran Khan: Big relief to Imran Khan, Islamabad High Court grants bail in Al Qadir Trust case

Pakistan Political Crisis: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan got a big relief from the Islamabad High Court on Friday. Court grants two weeks bail to Imran Khan in Al Qadir Trust case. Imran Khan was produced in the Islamabad High Court for anticipatory bail amid tight security. At the same time, it is feared that on May 9, Imran Khan may be arrested in the violence case. Imran Khan himself has expressed apprehension about his arrest.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had given a big relief to Imran. The court stayed the hearing against Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. There will be no criminal trial against Imran Khan. The Election Commission of Pakistan had applied for a criminal trial. Before Imran’s appearance, security was tightened in the entire area. According to media reports, police have so far arrested more than one thousand PTI workers.

The Supreme Court had ordered the release of Imran

On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered the immediate release of Imran Khan from the court premises, justifying his arrest. After this order of the Supreme Court, both the government and the army were on the back foot. Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif has also got a big blow from the decision of the Supreme Court. Many leaders of Sharif’s party are targeting the Chief Justice.

Prior to his appearance in the court, former Pakistan PM Imran Khan was lodged in the police line guest house amid heavy police security. From here he was directly brought to the High Court. Last night, Imran Khan appealed to his supporters to maintain peace. During this, he had said that he was beaten with sticks during custody. Such behavior is not even acceptable to a criminal.

145 cases have been registered against me: Imran Khan

Imran Khan said that 145 cases have been registered against him. He was arrested like a terrorist. At the same time, a three-member bench of Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Atar Minallah, while hearing the petition filed against his arrest from the Islamabad High Court premises on Tuesday, said that the proceedings against him were illegal.

Army arrested Imran Khan from court premises

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief Imran Khan was arrested by paramilitary forces from the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday. The bench had directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to produce Imran by 4.30 pm local time. Khan was brought to the court under tight security.

The bench also expressed deep displeasure over the manner in which the Pak Rangers arrested him while hearing the PTI chairman’s plea against his arrest in the Alqadir Trust case. The bench ordered the officers to produce them before it. Chief Justice Bandial told Imran, ‘It was good to see you. We believe that your arrest is illegal. The Islamabad High Court should hear the matter on Friday and whatever decision it gives, you will have to accept it.
