Ind vs Aus: Sunil Gavaskar told about the big difference between the body language of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli
Ind vs Aus: Sunil Gavaskar compared KL Rahul with Virat Kohli after his unbeaten 75 and explained the difference.
KL Rahul’s innings was a major contributor to the Indian team’s victory in the first ODI against Australia. He not only did the work of handling the team in difficult times but also returned the pavilion unbeaten after winning the team. In the first match, he first shared a 44-run partnership with stand-in captain Hardik Pandya and then an unbeaten 108-run partnership with Ravindra Jadeja to take India to victory. For Rahul, who is running in very poor form, this innings will act as a lifeline and his confidence will definitely increase. He played an excellent inning of 75 not out off 91 balls in the first ODI and also showed his combativeness.
Difference between Rahul and Kohli
Former India batsman Sunil Gavaskar expressed satisfaction over Rahul’s effort and also drew an interesting comparison between Virat Kohli and him. He said that I had said earlier also that Rahul has technique and temperament, but sometimes you need luck too. Like Virat Kohli, Rahul was also getting out from his mistake, but his body language was not like that of Kohli.
He further added that even when Kohli got out, his body language was different and he used to be confident, but you cannot say the same about KL Rahul. However, the way he batted first, after that he lived up to the faith the team management had shown in him. He hung on till the end, though it was not like he could have done anything, but he scored a half-century and remained unbeaten.
A player like KL is beneficial for India
Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar said that a batsman who bats at different positions becomes a strong position for him. KL is designed to play in different conditions. I think it is very beneficial for India that you have a player who can play at number five and also can face the new ball.
