Rising above grief over the temple tragedy that took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday (March 30), 8 families donated body parts of deceased relatives. It may be noted that on the day of Ram Navami in Indore, more than 50 people fell into the stepwell after the roof of the stepwell caved in at Shri Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal Temple in Patel Nagar. 36 people died in the accident.

After which the families of eight of the 36 people who died due to the collapse of the temple’s stepwell in Indore have donated the body parts of their deceased relatives. Voluntary organization Muskaan Group said large-hearted families agreed to donate the skin and eyes of their loved ones, who they lost after the stepwell roof collapsed during a havan organized at the Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal temple on the occasion of Ram Navami.

Sandipan Arya of the organization said, “After persuading the relatives, we coordinated with the doctors and officials. With heavy hearts, grieving families agreed to donate organs to see their dead loved ones in others.” He said, “So far the family members of Inder Kumar, Bhumika Khanchandani, Jayanti Bai, Daksh Patel, Laxmi Patel, Bharti Kukreja, Inder Chandki and Kanak Patel have given their written consent for eye and skin donation. His eyes have been donated to MY Hospital and Sankara Eye Bank, an organization working in this area.

Local citizens told that this accident has been recorded as the worst accident in the history of the city in which 21 women and two children also lost their lives.

Anil Bhatewara, who lives near the temple, told PTI, “The accident took place around 12:00 noon on Thursday in the temple on the day of Ram Navami. Some women came running to me in a delirious state and told me that many people had fallen into the stepwell. “Bhatevra said,” I live near the temple, but there was so much silt in the stepwell that we had no idea of ​​people falling into it. There was no sound at all. We immediately reached the temple and took 17-18 people out of the stepwell.
