In the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a major setback in the very first over of Saturday’s second match. Mahendra Singh Dhoni elected to bowl first after winning the toss against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede and Deepak Chahar came in to bowl the first over. He felt a problem in his leg after the 5th ball. Then CSK’s physio came on the field. Chahar left the field after bowling the last ball. It appeared to be a hamstring injury. However, no official information has been revealed regarding this yet. Only after it comes to the fore will it be known how serious the injury of this right-arm fast bowler is.

Deepak Chahar troubled by injury
Deepak Chahar suffered a back injury in February 2022, which ruled him out of last year’s IPL. He was eyeing a comeback to play for Team India in the T20 World Cup, when he suffered an injury which ruled him out of the tournament. He made a comeback on the tour of Bangladesh in December last year, then he was a quad grade 3 tier. This ruled him out of the home limited overs series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia.
Ajinkya Rahane’s debut for CSK
In the match, Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni opted to bowl first against Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians. Chennai gave Dwayne Pretorius and Ajinkya Rahane a chance in the playing 11 in place of injured Ben Stokes and unhealthy Moin Ali. Ajinkya Rahane has a debut match for CSK. Mumbai Indians have rested fast bowler Jofra Archer as a precautionary measure. Rohit Sharma informed about this.
