IPL 2023: On the poor performance of Prithvi Shaw in IPL 2023, the former Indian pacer said that he considers himself a star and because of this his condition has happened.
On one hand, while Shubman Gill’s cricket career is on the rise and his game graph is going up day by day, on the other hand, his teammate in the Indian Under-19 team, Prithvi Shaw was seen struggling in IPL 2023. In the first 6 matches he played for Delhi in the IPL, he scored 12, 7, 0, 15, 0 and 13 and was dropped from the playing XI. Though he came back later and scored a half-century, he could not find the momentum with his batting.
While Prithvi scored 106 runs in 8 matches in this IPL, Gill has so far scored 851 runs in 16 matches with three centuries. Now, while talking about Gill and Shaw, former Team India pacer Karsan Ghavri said that while Gill worked hard on his batting, Shaw did not. He further said that in the year 2018 both were in the same Under-19 team which won the World Cup, but today where is Gill and where is Prithvi. Ghavri said these things to The Indian Express.
Ghavri further said that in sports you need good temperament along with discipline and you also need to work on yourself continuously. If you occupy the crease then only you can score maximum runs. He feels that Prithvi Shaw should learn from Gill and work on his technique as well as fitness.
Karsan Ghavri said about Gill that I had trained him at the age of 11 and he was very serious about the game even then and is the same even after 11 years. He is very disciplined and has the hunger to score runs. Ghavri told that when he came to learn from me, his elder fast bowlers used to bowl, but he was not scared at all. I had asked him that son, if you are scared, then tell me, Gill replied that I will play. He said that Gill is the next superstar of world cricket.
