Mathisha has taken 17 wickets in 11 matches
Let us tell you that it was because of Mahendra Singh Dhoni that 20-year-old Mathisha Pathirana was included in his team by the CSK franchise. The young bowler lived up to Dhoni’s expectations and performed brilliantly in this IPL season. Mathisha has so far taken 17 wickets in 11 matches of the season. Last season also he played 2 matches and took 2 wickets.
Dhoni advised to keep Mathisha away from Test cricket
Mathisha has made a mark for herself as a death bowler this season. Yorker specialist Pathirana has won many matches for his team by bowling brilliantly in the death. Because of his bowling action, Mathisha is also known as Mini Malinga. It is not so easy for the batsman to hit on his bowling. Dhoni also praised Pathirana and gave an advice to Sri Lankan cricket. He had said that this fast bowler should not play all formats, because a bowler with a sling bowling action is more prone to injury than playing all formats.
