IPL 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal is not knocking on the door of Team India, said Ravi Shastri and Harbhajan Singh
Ravi Shastri And Harbhajan Singh on Yashasvi Jaiswal: Former Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri has advocated the inclusion of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh in the Indian T20 team.
Former Indian cricket team coach Ravi Shastri and spinner Harbhajan Singh have praised Yashasvi Jaiswal for the consistency he has shown in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Stylish left-handed opener Yashasvi hit a 13-ball half-century against KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on the night of May 11. This is the second fastest T20 fifty ever.
Left-handed batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal is second in the list of highest run-getters in IPL 2023. Yashasvi Jaiswal is just one run behind Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Faf Duplessis. The RCB skipper has scored 576 runs, while Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 575 runs.
Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that Yashasvi Jaiswal is forcing the national selectors to notice his talent and pick him in the Indian team. ‘Yashaswi Jaiswal is not just knocking on the doors of the Indian cricket team, he seems to be breaking into it with his consistent performances,’ Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
Harbhajan Singh said, ‘He (Yashasvi) carried forward his excellent form of domestic cricket in the IPL. What a talent he is! The future of Indian cricket is in good hands. Ravi Shastri also said yes to Harbhajan’s yes. Ravi Shastri said, ‘The time has come to include young talents like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh in India’s T20 International team.’
Ravi Shastri said, ‘If Team India is focusing on the ODI World Cup, then the selectors should focus on giving maximum opportunities to youngsters like Yashasvi and Rinku. These players should be fast-tracked. He can be groomed for next year’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies. If the selectors don’t pick him now, I don’t know what else they are looking for.
