Actually, this record is currently in the name of former Australian batsman Shaun Marsh, but Jaiswal can break that historical record by scoring 42 runs.

Which record is registered in the name of Shaun Marsh?

Australian batsman Shaun Marsh, who played for the Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) in the IPL, holds the record for scoring the most runs as an uncapped batsman. Shaun Marsh had set this record in the very first season of IPL (2008). Marsh scored 616 runs in 11 matches that season at an average of 68.44. Shaun Marsh had not made his international debut till then. Marsh’s debut took place in June 2008, partly because of his IPL performance.

He is in the race for the Orange Cap this year. Jaiswal played an unbeaten inning of 98 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on 11 May. During that innings, he scored a half century in 13 balls. This was the fastest half century in the history of IPL.
