The court is about to pronounce its verdict in the Jiah Khan Suicide Case today. Suraj Pancholi has reached the CBI court.
Jiah Khan Suicide Case Verdict: Actor Sooraj Pancholi has reached Mumbai’s special CBI court on charges of abetting actress and model Jiah Khan for suicide. The actor was seen going to the court along with his mother Zarina Wahab. Today, after a decade, the special CBI court will give its verdict in this case. ‘Nishabd’ actress Jia Khan committed suicide on June 3, 2013. On June 10, a letter from Jiah Khan was recovered, on the basis of which the Mumbai Police registered a case against actor Sooraj Pancholi under section 306 (abetment of suicide).
Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan claimed that her daughter was in an abusive relationship with Sooraj Pancholi and alleged that her daughter was murdered. In October 2013, he moved the Bombay High Court, seeking a CBI inquiry into the matter. On the orders of the Bombay High Court, the CBI took over the case from the Maharashtra Police a year later in July 2014.
At the same time, Suraj had said that he had a good relationship with Jia Khan. He had said, ‘My relationship with Nafisa (Jiah’s real name) has been good since the beginning.’ Asked about Rabia’s claim that it was not a case of suicide but murder, Pancholi replied, “I am not responsible for Nafisa’s death.”
In an earlier interview with our associate website indianexpress.com, he said, ‘Whenever I sign a project or make an announcement, the complainants bring some article or the other in the newspapers. It is only to put me down, and they may have their own reasons for doing so. People need to understand the reality of the matter. The kind of immaturity shown by the media in this matter is unwarranted as it affects many lives related to the matter.”
