Film director Onir is known for his National Award winning film ‘I Am’.
Karan Johar’s film ‘Yoddha’ is going to release on December 15, recently Karan Johar announced the release date of Siddharth Malhotra’s film. But after this, the release date of director Shriram Raghavan’s film ‘Merry Christmas’ was announced, which enraged Karan Johar and targeted Shriram Raghavan on Twitter without naming him. After this filmmaker Onir hit back at Karan Johar.
Onir has said, filmmakers with tight pockets are talking about taking care of each other, but they don’t think for a second when they limit the shows of a small budget film.”
Onir’s tweet was in response to Karan’s post on the threads where the director indirectly attacked Sriram Raghavan. Owners of Dharma Productions were all set to release their long-delayed film ‘Yoddha’ on December 15 but were disappointed to see Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Merry Christmas’ releasing on the same day. In the post, Karan said that it is not good for the industry if the makers do not discuss the release date of their films.
Karan wrote, “It is not good for studios and producers to clash a film without taking a call… If we are not able to show unity even in these difficult and challenging days then our brotherhood is in vain.”
Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Rashi Khanna, ‘Yoddha’ is directed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha. The film is an action thriller whose shooting began in 2021. On the other hand, Merry Christmas stars Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. This Christmas season both the films will give a tough fight at the box office.
