On Saturday (May 27), the new Congress government in Karnataka will get a full state cabinet of 24 ministers. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at Raj Bhavan at 11.45 am. Earlier, there was a lot of uproar throughout the day on Friday regarding the selection of ministers.

Congress in-charge for Karnataka and party general secretary Randeep Surjewala, senior state leader and minister Satish Jarkiholi and Raj Bhavan sources have confirmed that the government has briefed state governor Thaawarchand Gehlot for the swearing-in ceremony.

Battle for the Loyalists

Last week, eight ministers including CM and Deputy CM were sworn in. The portfolios are expected to be decided after the full cabinet meeting on Sunday.

After returning from Delhi, Ishwar Khandre, the working president of the Congress and considered a ministerial contender, said on Friday that around 22 to 24 ministers would be inducted. We do not have complete details yet.
