Karnataka: Never opposed the Ram temple – Congress leader Siddaramaiah said – I am a Hindu but I am against Hindutva

Congress Leader: On a question on Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, he said that none of the Hindu Mahasabha and RSS participated in India’s freedom struggle.

Congress Leader Siddaramaiah on Hindutva: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah gave a statement on Friday (January 6) regarding Hindutva. He said that I am a Hindu but I am against Hindutva. Siddaramaiah said that he did not oppose the Ram temple. Rather, he has got Ram temples constructed in many villages of Karnataka.

“I am opposed to those who take political advantage of Ram Mandir”:

Siddaramaiah said that my protest is about Hindutva. I am against those who take political advantage of Ram Mandir by making it a means. He said in response to a question whether we ever opposed the Ram temple. Our objection is only on using Ram’s name for political gains.

Siddaramaiah alleged that the BJP was using the Ram temple for political gains. Explain that while talking to the media, the Congress leader said that all religions are equal in the Indian Constitution. Actually Siddaramaiah gave this statement on the allegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in which BJP called him anti-Hindu.

In fact, BJP General Secretary CT Ravi had called former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah as ‘Siddaramaiah Khan’. Whereas Siddaramaiah has said that our country has different religious culture where every person should be taken along. He said that every person should be seen as a human being.

Siddaramaiah said that the Constitution talks about treating everyone equally and we should follow that. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah said that our party Congress has always been against those who promote communalism.
