Karnataka Politics: ‘If RSS-Bajrang Dal is banned, Congress will be reduced to ashes, even Nehru-Indira did not succeed’, Karnataka BJP Chief’s counterattack on Priyank Kharge’s statement
Karnataka Politics: Karnataka BJP Chief said that if Congress tries to ban Bajrang Dal and RSS, it will be reduced to ashes.
Karnataka Politics: Minister Priyank Kharge’s statement banning Bajrang Dal and RSS in Karnataka’s Siddaramaiah government has raised the temperature of the BJP. Karnataka BJP President Nalin Kateel has retaliated on Priyank Kharge’s statement. Nalin Kateel said that Priyanka Kharge talked about banning RSS. He said that PM Modi is an RSS Swayamsevak, who is in the central position and we all are RSS Swayamsevaks.
Kateel said that the Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Narasimha Rao governments had tried to ban the RSS, but they could not succeed. He said in a warning tone that if Congress tries to ban Bajrang Dal and RSS, it (Congress) will be burnt to ashes. It would be better if Priyank Kharge knew the history of the country. They should pay attention before making statements.
Priyank Kharge, a minister in the Karnataka government and son of Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge, made a big statement on 25 May. He had said that if any organization tries to disturb the peace or spoil the communal atmosphere in Karnataka, then his government will not hesitate to ban that organization.
The Congress had said in its manifesto during the Karnataka assembly elections that as soon as the government is formed in the state, it will ban Bajrang Dal, PFI and all organizations that spread hatred between communities on the basis of caste and religion and take strict action against them.
When Priyank Kharge was asked about this promise of the government, he said, ‘The organization which will try to spread hatred in the society. We will take action against him as per law. He said why BJP is scared of this decision. We are only going to take action according to the law and against those who violate the law. Why does BJP say that it is not doing anything wrong. Kharge was asked whether the government would ban RSS and Bajrang Dal as well. On this, Kharge said that action will be taken against any organization or person trying to disturb the peace. Even if it should not be me?
BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya has commented on Priyank Kharge’s statement. Amit Malviya said, ‘Is Priyank Kharge the Super CM of Karnataka? Or does being Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s son give him the right to speak ahead of CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar? Instead of letting ministers without portfolios go free to make such absurd comments, Congress should focus on fulfilling its five guarantees… People are getting restless and are ready to take to the streets if the Congress reneges on its promises .
The Congress stormed to power in the southern state after winning 135 seats in the 224-member Karnataka Assembly. At the same time, with 66 seats, the BJP has been forced out of Karnataka, its only southern bastion.
