Khalistanis threaten Bhagwant Mann, Home Ministry gives Z plus security, CRPF will provide security

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been provided with Z+ category security. According to official sources, the Center has given them security in view of possible threats from Punjab’s country and abroad. It is said that the Chief Minister of Punjab will be protected by the VIP security squad of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Sources said that the top-class ‘Z plus’ cover will be provided to him during his travels across India and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given approval for the same recently. CRPF will soon take over this task and for this a team of 55 armed personnel has been deployed. Sources said that apart from the Punjab Police security, this security cover would also cover the Chief Minister’s house and close family members.

Why is security being given

According to sources, in view of Khalistani activities in the border state of Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is in danger, so he is being given security. Such a security cover was recommended for Mann by the central intelligence and security agencies.

Now 55 commandos will be deployed in the security of Bhagwant Mann and it will include more than 10 NSG commandos. They are prepared with better training. Apart from this, there will be many changes in the security system as well. Such as All India Advance Security Liaison (ASL) protected person, ballistic rating vehicles and jammers for his movement, and robust proximate security arrangements will be ensured for him at all times.

Earlier in the beginning of the year 2023, the security of the wife of the Chief Minister of Punjab was also increased. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann (Punjab Chief earlier used to drive 15 policemen with him, now around 40 jawans were deployed for his security. Bhagwant Mann married Gurpreet Kaur in July last year.
