After the May 9 incident, Imran Khan is on the target of the Government of Pakistan and many of his workers have been arrested.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) senior vice-president Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Friday took a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan. After the exodus of senior members of Imran Khan’s party, he said that his game is over.
Maryam delivered a speech in Pakistan’s Vehari while addressing the youth convention of PML-N. During his address, he talked about the events of May 9, the day the PTI chief was arrested. Violent protests had started across the country on the same day. Maryam took a jibe at PTI over the mass exodus of Imran’s party leaders, saying those who left the party had many questions.
According to Geo News, PTI leaders quit the party after attacks on civilian and military institutions, including the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and the Lahore Corps Commander House (Jinnah House), when security forces launched a crackdown on party leaders.
More than 70 lawyers and leaders of Imran Khan’s party have severed ties with PTI after the May 9 incident. Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that when the leader is a jackal then how will the people stand? He further said that your people are telling that Imran Khan is the mastermind of May 9.
PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan was the mastermind of May 9 terrorism, but his workers are facing anti-terror court. Meanwhile, Imran Khan on Friday appealed for immediate talks with the state officials. The Pakistan-based The Express Tribune newspaper reported that the move came amid mounting pressure on his top allies and supporters, with thousands arrested as well as many deserting his party.
At the same time, the difficulties of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan may increase in the coming days. Trial can go on against Imran Khan in a military court. Pakistan’s Home Minister Rana Sanaullah has said this.
