Bipasha Ekratti has been ill since birth. He suffers from a ventricular septal defect. In other words, the newborn’s heart was pierced by two holes. Doctors initially advised Bipasha and her husband Karan Singh Grover to wait. In many cases, this is a discrepancy.
Bipasha said Devi’s heart was regularly checked. But despite the wait, Devi’s physical condition didn’t improve. That’s when the fight started. The doctors said the holes in Devi’s heart were so large that surgery was the only way to heal her.
Bipasha rushed to consult several doctors about his daughter’s illness. He and Karan spent the day in a state of extreme anxiety. Bipasha couldn’t hold back her tears as she recalled the bad times. The actress said she had agreed to her daughter’s open-heart surgery, but that her husband Karan could not accept it.
Three-month-old Devi underwent a six-hour operation. He is in good health for the time being. But Bipasha feels that her and Karan’s journey as parents is very different from any other. Even today, Bipasha has tears in his eyes when he recalls this difficult period.
