Mumbai: Sachin Waje, who was a supercop of Mumbai Police, got bail in PMLA case, while Elgar Parishad accused also got bail from Bombay HC.

Bombay High Court: The sessions court has granted bail to former Mumbai police officer Sachin Waje. However, despite getting bail, Waje will remain in jail as he is in judicial custody in other cases. On Friday (November 18, 2022), former police officer Sachin Vaze was granted bail in a money laundering case. He had sought bail on the grounds that the main accused, former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, had got bail from the Bombay High Court and that Waje himself, unlike Deshmukh, had never been arrested.

Sachin Waje came into limelight for keeping gelatin near Mukesh Ambani’s house Antilla during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. Waje, who has been in custody for several months in a money laundering case, has been relieved by the Sessions Court. However, Waje will remain in jail for now, having judicial custody in other cases.

Professor Anand Teltumbde arrested in Elgar Parishad case gets bail

On the other hand, the Bombay High Court on Friday granted bail to Professor Anand Teltumbde, arrested in the Elgar Parishad case of 2018. However, on the appeal of NIA lawyer Sandesh Patil, the court stayed the order for a week. The agency sought this time so that it could approach the Supreme Court.

Tell me, there were allegations against Teltumbde of having links with Maoists. His brother Milind Teltumbde had left home many years ago. He was a Maoist leader. He was killed in an encounter with security forces in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli area in November last year.
