The defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Karnataka Assembly elections does not seem to affect the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recent survey figures are giving proof of this. According to the survey, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the most popular leader of the country. Survey figures are showing that 43 percent of the public is telling PM Modi as the first choice for the post of Prime Minister.

43 percent people want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister

On completion of 9 years of Modi government, NDTV and Lokniti-Center for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) conducted a survey in 71 Lok Sabha constituencies in 19 states of India. Under the survey, a total of more than 7,000 people were asked for their opinion on different issues, in which people from all sections of the society were involved.

In the survey conducted between 10 and 19 May 2023, it was clear that even today 43 percent people want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister, while 27 percent people want to see Rahul Gandhi as PM.

Rahul Gandhi’s popularity increased

Significantly, in the year 2019, the number of people who liked PM Narendra Modi was 44 percent whereas today it is 43 percent. However, the number of people who like former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has increased. As compared to 24 per cent in 2019, the number of people preferring the Congress leader as the Prime Minister has gone up to 27 per cent.

25 percent people are impressed by PM Modi’s art of talking

The people involved in the survey were also asked that how do they like Narendra Modi? In response to which 40 percent people said that they like PM Modi. 23 percent people disliked PM Modi. 25 percent of the people said that they neither like PM Modi good nor bad. While 12 percent people did not give any answer. At the same time, 25 percent of the respondents who participated in the survey are impressed by the art of talking of PM Modi. At the same time, 20 percent believe that he is a development-oriented Prime Minister.

13 percent people consider PM Modi hardworking

13 percent of the people who were part of the survey consider PM Modi as hardworking. Whereas, only 13 per cent are impressed by his personality. 11 percent people are praising his policies. As per the data, more than 55 per cent respondents are happy with the work of the government on different fronts. Whereas, 17 percent are completely satisfied.

On the issue of development, 47 per cent people said that the government has done a good job, while on the issue of Kashmir, only 28 per cent rated the government’s performance as good and 13 per cent rated it as average. On the issue of preventing corruption, 41 per cent people said that the work of the Modi government was good, while 45 per cent people said that the efforts of the Modi government on this issue were bad.

Rahul Gandhi can challenge PM Modi in 2024 elections

On the question of who can challenge PM Narendra Modi in the next general elections, most people chose Rahul Gandhi. 34 percent people believe that only Congress leaders can challenge the Prime Minister in 2024 while 11 percent people considered Arvind Kejriwal as a national level challenger. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is involved in the exercise of opposition unity in this race, is being liked by only 1 percent of the people involved in the survey.
