NCP vs NCP: What will happen in Maharashtra now? Understand in 5 points, both uncle and nephew called a meeting
Pawar vs Pawar: The Mahabharata of Maharashtra has now reached its peak. In the political battle between uncle and nephew, it will be interesting to see who has the upper hand.
Maharashtra Political Crisis: The ongoing ‘Mahabharata’ in Maharashtra has moved towards its next chapter. People have started questioning whether the condition of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will be similar to that of the Shiv Sena. The NCP is divided into two factions following the rebellion of Sharad Pawar’s nephew and NCP stalwart Ajit Pawar and joining the Shiv Sena-BJP government on Sunday. Both Sharad Pawar faction and Ajit Pawar faction are staking claim on NCP. On Tuesday too, a round of meetings took place in both the groups and statements were made. Both the factions have called a meeting on Wednesday to show their real strength. Ajit Pawar called a meeting at 11 am, while uncle Sharad Pawar called a meeting at 1 pm. Apart from this, a meeting has been called by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde. Shiv Sena quota ministers will attend this meeting.
It can be clear from the meeting of Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar that how many MLAs are with whom. Who is greater in numbers. If Ajit Pawar is successful in bringing more MLAs together, then there is a possibility of politics starting regarding favorite ministries. If sources are to be believed, Ajit Pawar has expressed his desire regarding the ministries. In which many important departments including finance, cooperative are included, in which most of the departments are with the BJP camp. On the other hand, BJP sources have made a big claim. According to the claim of BJP sources, after Shiv Sena and NCP, now Congress can also move in this direction. BJP sources claimed that after the NCP crisis, two prominent Congress leaders are in touch with the party and are in talks about the alleged deal. The discussions have been going on for some time and are now in the final stages.
- Ajit Pawar and the rest of the rebels were expelled from the NCP by Sharad Pawar after he took oath along with 8 MLAs on 2 July. After this Ajit Pawar formed his new party. Ajit announced his new party office in front of Mantralaya in Mumbai on Tuesday. He also attended the cabinet meeting of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Ajit Pawar has claimed the support of 40 of the 53 Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLAs after parting ways with uncle Sharad Pawar and joining the Maharashtra government. However, two days after taking oath with new MLAs including Ajit Pawar, it is not clear who is bigger between the Sharad Pawar faction and the Ajit Pawar faction. Because both the MLAs have not been presented yet.
- Sharad Pawar objected to putting his picture in Ajit Pawar’s office. He said that those who betrayed my ideology have no right to use my picture. Ajit Pawar held a meeting with all NCP MPs, MLAs, Legislative Council members, party office bearers and leaders at MET in Bandra.
- As for the Ajit Pawar faction, the MLAs who took oath along with them on Sunday include Chhagan Bhujbal, Dhananjay Munde, Dilip Walse Patil, Anil Patil, Hasan Mushrif, Aditi Tatkare, Dharmaraobaba Atram and Sanjay Bansode. Ajit Pawar needs a two-thirds majority to split the NCP party and avoid action under the anti-defection law. If he has enough numbers, he can claim the name and symbol of the party.
- Sharad Pawar also held a party meeting at YB Chavan Center ie NCP office on Tuesday. Executive President Supriya Sule was present in this. Apart from both the factions of NCP, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction) and Congress have also called meetings on Wednesday. In this, the future direction has to be decided regarding the NCP crisis. Praful Patel on Tuesday claimed that in 2022, 51 out of 53 NCP MLAs had told Sharad Pawar that the possibility of joining hands with the BJP should be explored after the fall of the MVA government. However, Sharad Pawar stopped him from doing so. On the other hand, a meeting of the Shiv Sena Uddhav faction was also held on Tuesday. Sanjay Raut said that Sharad Pawar is not lying alone, we are with him. He is just like Balasaheb Thackeray. Eknath Shinde never had any bargaining power. The one who is a slave does not have power.
- Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan has said that NCP had 53 MLAs, if more than 37 MLAs go with Ajit Pawar, they can escape the anti-defection law. If it remains less than 35 then suspension is fixed, what happened during Shiv Sena’s time will happen. Let me tell you, Congress has 45 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly with 288 seats. Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction has 17 MLAs.
