An NDTV report quoted sources as saying that nine police control room (PCR) vans had followed the car of the accused but failed to catch the car. According to sources, witness Deepak Dahiya had made more than 20 calls to the police emergency number after seeing the girl being dragged along with the car. After which about nine police vans were sent to search for the car, but all failed to locate it.
