New record of sales in Amazon Prime Day 2023, 5 smartphones sold every second, prime members saved 300 crores

Amazon Prime Day 2023 was organized on 15 and 16 July. The Prime Day sale has proved to be the company’s biggest Prime Day event till date. Please tell that this was the seventh edition of Prime Day Sale in India. On July 15-16, Prime Day 2023 brought Prime members shopping spree with great deals, new launches and blockbuster entertainment. Amazon says that 14 percent more Prime members shopped in the latest Prime Day Sale compared to Prime Day 2022. With the new record, 22,190 orders were received on Amazon India in just one minute.
According to Amazon, Prime members saved more than Rs 300 crore in this sale with only brand and bank partnerships in the Prime Day 2023 sale. Prime members take advantage of fast delivery. The e-commerce giant says that 1 out of 3 orders in metros were delivered before the end of Prime Day i.e. on July 16. And in most Tier 1 and 2 cities, 1 out of 2 orders were delivered in less than two days.
Amazon says that the Prime Day 2023 sale event saw a tremendous increase in Prime membership. And 14 percent more members shopped this year.
Amazon Prime Day 2023 details
Of the thousands of product categories, smartphones were sold in large numbers. According to the market shared by Amazon, 5 smartphones were sold every second and 70 per cent of the demand was from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The newly launched OnePlus Nord 3 5G, Samsung Galaxy M34 5G, Motorola Razr 40 Series, Realme Narzo 60 Series and iQOO Neo 7 Pro 5G smartphones received an overwhelming response from Prime members. Samsung Galaxy M34 5G emerged as the number 1 selling smartphone among newly launched phones.
Speaking on the success of the Prime Day 2023 sale, Akshay Sahi, Director, Prime and Delivery Experience, Amazon India, said, “I would like to thank our sellers, brand partners and Prime members for helping make this Prime Day the biggest event ever in India. Brands and sellers across categories have received an overwhelming response from Prime members in metros and tier 2 and 3 cities and towns across India. Along with the biggest product and brand launches this Prime Day, the biggest deals of the year, we also saw the largest number of single day deliveries compared to previous Prime Day events.’
