No trace of BF.7 Variant in Delhi, Kejriwal said – no need to panic, government is ready to provide up to 36 thousand beds

Arvind Kejriwal on Coronavirus: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held an emergency meeting on Thursday (December 22, 2022) regarding the situation of Kovid-19. After the meeting, Arvind Kejriwal said in a press conference that there is not a single case of Omicron’s sub-variant BF.7 in the capital Delhi. He said that 92 percent of the cases in Delhi are of the XBB variant.

Kejriwal said that we have complete preparation regarding Corona. As per the instructions of the Government of India, we are conducting genome sequencing of all new active cases. He said that 2,500 tests are being done everyday in Delhi, which we can take up to one lakh.

Eight thousand beds vacant for Corona: Arvind Kejriwal

The Chief Minister said that today we have 8000 beds vacant for Corona and if needed, we can take the number of beds up to 36 thousand. Our government has also increased the capacity to store oxygen. Last time there was also a problem of oxygen. The biggest problem was to store oxygen, because during that time we did not have the capacity to store oxygen, but today we have arrangements to store 928 metric tonnes of oxygen.

Kejriwal said – Our government arranged 15 tankers in the last year

Last time cylinders were not available, now we have 6000 empty cylinders lying empty. Last time there was a problem that some state used to ask to bring oxygen, but we did not have a tanker to bring oxygen, but our government has arranged 15 tankers in the last year, with which today we can bring oxygen from any state.

Only 24 percent people got booster dose in Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal

Kejriwal told that only 24% people in Delhi have got booster dose. I request all of you to get all booster doses done. Right now we have 380 ambulances ready, we have also given instructions for more ambulances. Let me tell you, after the variant that wreaked havoc in China was found in India, the government has appealed everyone to follow the Corona guidelines. So far four cases have been found in Gujarat and Odisha in July, September and November.
