Pakistan’s female cricketer withdrew from the Asian Games for the sake of her daughter, know the whole matter?
Pakistan women’s cricketer Bismah Maroof has refused to go to the Asian Games citing a policy of the Asian Games organisers, under which players traveling to China will not be able to take children along.
Pakistan women’s cricket team player Bismah Maroof has decided to withdraw from the Asian Games. Bismah Maroof’s withdrawal from the Asian Games after the retirement of another player Ayesha Naseem is a big blow to the Pakistani cricket team. The Asian Games will start in China from 23 September.
Decision taken due to Asian Games policy
According to information, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team batsman Bismah Maroof’s decision to withdraw from the Asian Games has been taken because of a policy of the Asian Games. Actually, the policy of Asian Games is that players will not be able to bring their children in this competition. For this reason, Bismah Maroof has withdrawn his name.
Bismah took the decision for the sake of her daughter.
The organizers of the Asian Games do not allow sportspersons from participating countries to travel with their children during the Games and Bismah has refused to be a part of the Games for the same reason. Tania Malik, head of PCB’s women’s cricket cell, said it was unfortunate that the team would not have the services of Bismah in the Asian Games. Bisbah has taken this decision because of her daughter.
Team will play T20 and ODI series before Asian Games
Let us tell you that before participating in the Asian Games, the Pakistan women’s team will play a three-match T20 and three-match ODI series against South Africa in Karachi from September 1 to 14. After this the Pakistani team will leave for China. The Pakistani women’s team has won the gold medal in cricket in 2010 and 2014 in the Asian Games.
