Now Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has announced to give pension to unmarried people in the state. Only those people, whose age is more than 45 years, can take advantage of this pension.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar while addressing a public meeting in Karnal some time back had talked about starting a pension scheme for unmarried people. On Thursday, he has announced that now such unmarried people of Haryana will be given pension every month, whose age is more than 45 years.

Who will get pension?

He told that unmarried people whose annual income is less than Rs 1.80 lakh will be given Rs 2750 as pension every month. Apart from this, the Haryana government has kept all those people of the same age group under the purview of this pension, whose husband / wife has died. To avail pension in this category, the annual income should not exceed Rs 3 lakh.

65000 unmarried in the state

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that this pension scheme would put an additional burden of Rs 240 crore on the state government. According to statistics, the number of unmarried people in Haryana is around 65,000. The number of pensioners in the widow/widower category is estimated to be around 6,000. The CM told that as soon as the age of these people who are taking the benefit of the pension scheme is 60 years, these people will start getting the benefit of old age pension.

Last month, it was announced to give pension to Padma award winners

Last month in Haryana, CM Manohar Lal Khattar had announced pension to all the Padma awardees of the state. He had said that all the Padma awardees of the state would be given Rs 10,000 as pension every month. Apart from this, he also announced free travel facility in Volvo buses for Padma awardees.
