1- BJP’s MLA and MLC will meet amid Sharad-Ajit confrontation in NCP

After the split in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), the leaders of both the factions are calling their own side as the real Nationalist Congress Party. Meanwhile, a meeting of BJP members of the state assembly and legislative council is going to be held in Mumbai on Friday. In this meeting there will be a serious discussion about the new developments and the Lok Sabha elections.

On the other hand, both Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar have termed each other’s meeting as illegal. The Ajit Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has said that Thursday’s working committee meeting called by Sharad Pawar in Delhi has no legal validity. After the working committee meeting in Delhi, Sharad Pawar said, “I am the president of NCP.” On Ajit Pawar’s claim of having majority, Sharad Pawar said, “The truth will come out.”

The verdict is expected to come at 11 am. Rahul Gandhi had given a statement some time ago regarding ‘Modi surname’. This statement had taken political color after coming in the headlines. BJP MLA Purnesh Modi had filed a defamation case in Surat court, terming it as caste discrimination and hurtful statement. The Surat court had given its verdict against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the case. Against this decision, Rahul Gandhi had filed a review petition in the Gujarat High Court.

4- Big meeting of Sikh organizations across the country on UCC today

Leaders of Sikh organizations across the country will meet in New Delhi on Friday to discuss and oppose the central government’s move to bring the Uniform Civil Code in the next session of Parliament and make it a law. Before making the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) a law, the Central Law Commission has sought opinion from various parties, religious organizations, common people.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has called upon Sikhs from across the country to meet in Delhi on July 7 to discuss and clear their stand on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The objective would be to understand and explain the implications of the UCC on the Sikh community. Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee President Harmeet Singh Kalka said that no clarification has come from the government on religious symbols. The community would oppose any such amendment, which would see interference with their religious practices. Kalka said that the government should clarify that after the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, people belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community will have the right to worship in those temples, where it is prohibited now. On Thursday, the Muslim Personal Law Board met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on the issue and sought his party’s support. Kharge has supported him on behalf of the party and said that when this issue will be discussed in the Parliament.

5- Meeting of the CM and Deputy CM of BJP’s northern region and other leaders with the party president

Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda will hold a meeting with the office bearers, Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers and National Executive Council members of the Northern Region on Friday (July 7, 2023). During this, they will discuss the strategy regarding the Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections. Senior leaders of Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Daman and Diu, Dadra Nagar Haveli, MP, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Haryana have been called in this meeting.

Earlier, JP Nadda held a meeting in Guwahati on Thursday. Leaders of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim participated in it. One such meeting will be held in Hyderabad on Saturday, 9th July. The leaders of the southern states have been called in this meeting.
