Patiala Gurdwara Complex: A woman was shot dead in the Patiala Gurdwara complex.
Punjab News: A woman was shot dead at a gurdwara in Punjab’s Patiala for allegedly consuming liquor. The police informed about this on Monday. According to Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police Varun Sharma, the incident took place on Sunday evening.
Woman was drinking alcohol near the ‘sarovar’ of the gurudwara
Police said the woman, Parminder Kaur (33), was allegedly consuming liquor near the ‘sarovar’ of Dukhniwar Sahib Gurdwara. Eyewitnesses said that when a gurdwara attendant stopped her, the woman broke a bottle and hit him on the arm. He was then taken to the Gurdwara manager’s room. Where a bystander pulled out a pistol and shot her four times, police said the woman died on the spot.
The police has arrested the accused person. Who has been identified as Nirmaljit Singh, a resident of Urban Estate, Patiala. Police said that he is a property dealer. He comes to the Gurudwara everyday. The attendant Sagar Malhotra was also injured in the firing.
SSP gave information-
Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varun Sharma said that the police arrested the accused. The pistol with which the accused shot and killed the woman has also been recovered. The SSP said that this entire matter is a matter of investigation. This is a sensitive issue. Apart from watching the CCTV footage, the police is also probing many other aspects.
Scooter mechanic murdered in Ludhiana
Earlier, a scooter mechanic was killed in Ludhiana. Three days after the murder, the police registered a case against an unknown person. Till now the police have not got any clue. The deceased has been identified as Balwinder Singh alias Chhinda Niwali of Dhurkot village. He used to run a two-wheeler repair workshop in Natthowal village.
Jaswinder, the younger brother of the deceased, said that on May 8, Balwinder had a scuffle with an unknown person. It is suspected that the same person killed his brother the next day while coming home. Police have registered a case under Section 302 on the complaint of the brother of the deceased. The deceased has left behind two sons and wife.
