Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot’s trouble increased, Rouse Avenue Court ordered to appear on August 7 in defamation case

Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat recently filed a criminal defamation case against Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot for defaming him with comments on the alleged Sanjeevani scam.

A new challenge has arisen in front of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He has been ordered by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court to appear before it in a defamation case filed by Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The court has ordered Ashok Gehlot to appear in the court on August 7, 2023. Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat recently filed a criminal defamation case against Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot for defaming him with comments on the alleged Sanjeevani scam. The summons has been issued by Justice Harjit Singh Jaspal, Special Judge, MP-MLA Court. The Rouse Avenue Court had earlier reserved its order on this.

What is the matter?

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat demanded prosecution of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for making derogatory speeches against him. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been accusing Jodhpur MP and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat of involvement in the scam. On the other hand, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat says that if it is so, then he should prove it.

Ashok Gehlot had given a statement saying that the victims of the scam had met him thrice and shared their pain. He had said that he (Gajendra Singh Shekhawat) is a cabinet minister, is he not ashamed that he is not taking any step to get the money of two and a half lakh people? His people are sitting in jail. Do they have no morals? It is our duty to talk to the victims.

Shekhawat attacked Gehlot in the complaint

The complaint of defamation states that the said false, unnecessary, derogatory and defamatory statements have been made by the accused (Ashok Gehlot) with a view to tarnish the image of the complainant in the eyes of general public, voters and his relatives. The complainant Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also stated that the accused is disappointed as the complainant had defeated the son of the accused by a huge margin in the last election and thus according to the complainant the statement given by the accused is a political vendetta.
