Shameful! Two women stripped naked and paraded on the road in Manipur, video goes viral
An incident which has put humanity to shame has come to light from Manipur. Here the mob has taken off the clothes of two women and made them run on the road.
Manipur News: Amidst the ongoing tension in Manipur, a very shameful news has come to the fore. Two women from Manipur have been stripped naked and paraded on the road by a mob. A video of this incident is going viral on social media. This incident is being told of May 3. According to the news of the Indian Express, the victim women belong to the Kuki-Jomi community.
A senior Manipur Police official said that the incident took place on May 4 in Thoubal district of the state. Zero FIR was registered in Kangpokpi district on May 18 regarding this matter. What is shocking, however, is that the FIR registered by the police has been registered against “unknown armed miscreants”. Sections of kidnapping, gangrape and murder have been imposed in the FIR but till now no arrest has been made in this case.
The age of one of the victim women is said to be around 20 years and the age of the other woman is said to be around 40. It is being claimed that both these women are from the Kuki-Zomi dominated mountainous region of Kangpokpi district. In the viral video, it can be clearly seen that the mob is making two women strip naked and roaming on the road and then taking them towards the fields. In the video, many youths are seen forcibly holding women and molesting them.

The incident took place on May 4 in Thoubal, a Meitei-dominated district. The aggrieved women later lodged a complaint at a police station in Kangpokpi district. Police has registered zero FIR on the complaint of the victimized women and the matter has been sent to the concerned police station in Thoubal.
According to the complaint of the victim women, a woman in her 50s was also forced to strip by the mob. However, only two women are visible in the video going viral. The complaint also states that the youngest woman was also gangraped in broad daylight.
In their complaint, the aggrieved women said that after the violence broke out on May 3, a group of 800-1,000 people entered their village on May 4 carrying sophisticated weapons like AK rifles, SLRs, INSAS and .303 rifles. These people looted the village and set it on fire. Five members of the village – three women and two relatives of the youngest woman – had fled to the forest to escape.
He said that he was rescued by the police and when the police was taking him with them, the mob stopped him on the way and took him from police custody two kilometers before the police station. The victim women claim that the father of the girl who was gang-raped was killed on the spot and after that the three women were forcibly stripped and paraded in front of the crowd. The youngest woman was then gang-raped by the mob. Her brother, who was trying to save the woman, was also killed. These three women are currently in the relief camp at Tengnoupal.
