There is a new revelation in the Shivnadar shootout. The victim student Sneha had sent a mail to two senior members of the university administration on March 14, even before her murder. In which he told the whole story about himself and Anuj. He appealed to the administration to save him from Anuj. He told the university administration in detail about Anuj’s bad behavior through mail. She accused Anuj of strangulating her and threatening to kill her. She asked the university administration to intervene in the matter so that she feels safe in the campus.
In her mail sent on March 14, Sneha wrote that “Anuj assaulted her 4 times in the last two months. I have bruises on my body. He once choked me so hard that I fainted.”
Sneha further wrote that “I am writing this mail to you as per the conversation held today. Recently I have faced a violent incident. Sneha in her email informed the administration about her and Anuj’s relationship. She had said in the email that she had separated from Anuj. After this he tried to strangulate her. Sneha has written that “My mental condition is not good. I am feeling mentally ill, because of all this I am having panic attacks. I really want to get out of all this.”
‘I want to be safe’
Sneha wrote in the email that “She does not want to file a police complaint against Anuj but I want to be safe. I want Anuj not to trouble me and my family. He has the numbers of my family members. He can talk to them if he wants. If he does this, my family will not understand my situation. They can take action against me.”
While talking to our colleague The Indian Express, Sneha’s father said that he will file an FIR against the university. He says that if the administration had already taken action against the accused, my daughter’s life would have been saved. Significantly, on May 18, Anuj had shot dead Sneha outside the dining hall, after which she committed suicide in the hostel room.
