In the counting of votes held on Saturday in the municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has unilaterally won the post of mayor of all the 17 municipal corporations of the state. No opposition party could win the mayoral seat. The BJP also dominated the Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats.
